Guided Running Tours

Run Kyoto offers guided running experiences through the heart of Kyoto for travelers who want to explore the city in a more active, authentic way.

Runs follow carefully chosen routes through quiet streets, riverside paths, historic neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and scenic trail sections. We move at a relaxed, conversational pace, with time to stop for photos, stories, and local insight. These runs are not about speed or distance. They are about experiencing Kyoto as you move through it.

Runs are scheduled to fit your travel plans, whether you prefer an urban route through the city or a trail run in Kyoto’s surrounding hills. Each experience is shaped around your group to create a memorable and personal way to explore.

All runs are led in English, kept small for a more personal feel, and suitable for runners of all levels.

FAQs

How fast and how far would we run?

1

Every run is tailored to you or the group. Before we start, we’ll chat about your usual pace, distance, and what kind of experience you want. Whether you’re after an easy jog, a steady run, or something more challenging, we adjust the pace, distance, and route so it feels comfortable and enjoyable for you.

Do I need to be an experienced runner?

2

Not at all. Our runs are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced runners. If you’re new to running or just getting back into it, we’ll keep things relaxed and supportive.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

3

We keep a close eye on the forecast. Light rain usually isn’t a problem, but in the case of heavy rain, extreme heat, or unsafe conditions, we’ll contact you to reschedule or adjust the plan. Your safety and enjoyment always come first.

Where do we meet and what should I bring?

4

We can meet you at your hotel, Airbnb, hostel, or another convenient location. Just bring comfortable running shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We’ll take care of the rest.
